Union County enacts 120-day moratorium on cryptocurrency and data-center applications

Sole Commissioner Harold Collins on April 10 read and enacted Resolution R 202626, imposing a 120-day emergency moratorium on applications for cryptocurrency sites, data mining sites and data centers to give Union County time to review its 2023 ordinance covering those uses. "I hereby adopt Resolution R 202626 for the purpose of enacting an emergency moratorium on applications of cryptocurrency sites, data mining sites and data centers for the duration of 120 days," Collins said during the meeting.
