City staff presented Ordinance No. 2553-2026, a second-reading ordinance that would add charter language restricting sale or long-term lease of city-owned property containing recreational ball fields and direct the supervisor of elections to place the proposed amendment on the November 3, 2026 ballot. Staff noted a prior edit changed a 10-year restriction in earlier drafts to a 1-year term in the posted language.
