Council approved a contract with Schindler Elevator Corporation to modernize elevators in the Fred Block Building (the district attorney's building). The parish president told the council, "the 2 elevators in the District Attorney's Building is shot, to say the least. 1 of them is truly kaput," and asked the council to approve the modernization so equipment can be ordered.
