Evergreen Elementary construction on schedule; GMP 3 to be brought to board

A district presenter gave the board an update on Evergreen Elementary's construction, reporting that site utilities and sidewalks are in place, footings have been poured across most of the site, and prefabricated wall work and early floor work are beginning.

The presenter said the project team has executed three contract amendments so far (validation phase and two GMPs) and that GMP 3, which will encompass the entire project budget under the progressive design‑build delivery, will be presented to the board at the next meeting. "We will be, at the next board meeting, presenting GMP 3," the presenter said. He also noted required constructability and value‑engineering reviews for OSPI compliance, and that 90% construction documents are due Oct. 19 with 100% documents expected mid‑to‑late December.

Board members asked about finish details, the front entrance design and the commissioning schedule; the presenter said commissioning will occur substantially before occupancy and continue during the occupancy phase to work out systems. The presenter and staff emphasized monitoring schedule risk, noting occupancy and move‑in targets and the tightness of the schedule.
