Saint Martin Parish Council advances multiple nuisance-property condemnation orders
The council moved to proceed with show-cause hearings and orders of condemnation/abatement for four properties — Shady Oaks Lane (rear structures), 1062 David Road (RV/chassis and debris), 1157 Cormier Road (cleanup ongoing) and 1057 Florence Drive (structure to be torn down pending litigation) — directing staff to work with owners to remediate.

The Saint Martin Parish Council on Feb. 3 voted to proceed with condemnation and abatement actions for several properties cited in nuisance complaints. Staff described each case including a Shady Oaks Lane parcel (Parcel ID 0520282749) where the council agreed to exempt a front trailer that is being repaired while moving forward against abandoned rear structures. "The complaint consisted of abandoned structures..." staff explained during the hearing.
