County committees approve several state grants and small initiatives
On July 28 committees approved acceptance of multiple state grants and festival funding: snowmobile trails grants, zoo botanical gardens grant amendment, and a New York 250-themed fall festival grant; all carried without substantive debate.

The joint meeting and subsequent Ways and Means session processed several state grant items with minimal discussion. Referral 26-0230 accepted funding from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation for snowmobile trail development and maintenance contracts with local clubs; referral 26-0231 amended a prior resolution to accept additional funding for the zoo's botanical gardens and aquariums program; and referral 26-0235 accepted a New York State Education Department grant to support a New York 250-themed fall festival. Each motion was moved, seconded and carried without recorded opposition.
