Town Administrator Tom Tober presented an opt-in notification system to the board and said the vendor quoted roughly $2,000 per year for the service. The system would send texts or notices only to residents who opt in; Tober said the vendor would host subscriber data and assist with sign-up campaigns, but board members raised privacy and uptake concerns and asked for additional metrics and a product demo.
