The Richland County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday adopted a proclamation designating September 2026 as National Preparedness Month in Richland County. County Commissioner Cliff Meares read the proclamation’s summary paragraph, saying the board “hereby designate September 2026 as national preparedness month in Richland County” and urged residents, families, businesses and organizations to take proactive steps to ensure safety and resilience.
