The full story

Polk County staff presented two land‑use code actions during expedited public hearings. Land Development Director Ben Zisco told the board the Main Street Corridor text amendment (LDCPA 12026‑2) had two minor changes suggested by Florida Department of Commerce: (1) clarify that a lot of record within a Main Street Corridor may be developed as a single‑family lot and (2) change a cross‑connectivity requirement to an encouragement. Staff said the amendments are de minimis and recommended readoption so the package can be transmitted to Florida Commerce; the board approved the readoption by voice vote.
