Commission approves $1,200 engineering redesign fee to split county building for multiuse
Sep 9, 2026
The commission authorized a $1,200 fee to the building manufacturer/designer to redesign a pre-engineered county building so it can be split into two functional spaces (engineer office and other county use), enabling the county to determine materials and costs needed for separation work.

County engineering staff described a plan to split an existing pre-engineered building into two multi-purpose units to house the engineer’s office and other county uses such as sheriff operations; separation requires additional load-bearing structure and a redesign. "There was a small fee... like $1,200 for them to actually come back in and do separate the building and the redesign," the engineer said, and the commission voted to pay the fee so the designer can produce plans and an itemized materials list.
