Commissioners worked through the consultant's itemized feature list and chose several eliminations to bring equipment costs down. In a sequence of straw polls the group agreed to remove elements listed as numbers 1, 2, 5, 9 and 11 from the current concept; the consultant estimated those cuts would shave roughly $85,000 from the equipment total. Chair then asked members to proceed down the feature list to identify any further duplications or reductions.
