Pequannock Council introduced Ordinance 2026-02 on first reading to put a referendum before voters that would expand permissible uses of the township's open-space trust consistent with state statute; the motion passed and the ordinance will proceed to further consideration.

Pequannock Township Council moved on April 14 to introduce Ordinance 2026-02, authorizing a referendum ballot question that would expand the allowable uses of the township's open-space trust. Manager Adam Brewer said the proposed expansion would be limited to ‘‘those that are allowable by state statute.’'
