Council Unanimously Names DeForge Council President After Resignation
Following the announcement that the previous council president resigned, the council nominated and unanimously confirmed Councilor DeForge to serve as council president; the appointment was made at the start of the Aug. 20 meeting.

Councilors opened the meeting by announcing that the previous council president had resigned and moved quickly to fill the leadership vacancy. "I will accept nominations," the presiding official said, and after a nomination from Councilor Weber the body moved to appoint Councilor DeForge. The presiding officer called for a vote and "let the record show that council is unanimous," the official said.
