Commissioners spent the meeting's longest block evaluating a proposal from the health department to offer trash vouchers to residents instead of holding periodic precinct 'trash days.' The health department outlined a model of 500 vouchers per cleanup (three cleanups a year) at the city rate of $33.12 per voucher, estimated at $16,560 per cleanup and $49,680 annually if all vouchers were used. The presenter, AJ of the health department, said the voucher would cover “1 voucher covers 3 cubic yards or 1 covered truck about 2,000 pounds.”
