The Board of Supervisors proclaimed September 2026 as Workforce Development Month and recognized regional workforce partners that connect residents to training and jobs. Marla Stewart, Director of Employment and Human Services, opened the item and framed the nationwide celebration's 21st anniversary; Tamia Brown, Executive Director of the Workforce Development Board, described regional program metrics and partners. "During fiscal year 2026, we served more than 5,770 businesses and provided career services through approximately 23,715 individual visits," Brown said, and highlighted the EDAP program that offers paid pathways and internships to help students earn engineering degrees and industry experience.
