City Manager Mary Bullock told council that the Police Department’s budget will see a substantial increase in FY2026–27, driven primarily by the creation of new sergeant positions to provide supervision for each shift. Bullock said the increase also covers uniforms, equipment, safety supplies and building maintenance related to supporting additional personnel.
