County highlights composting workshops and facility capacity as diversion strategy

Estela Guerrera described what belongs in a green cart — plant and food material but not plastics, pet waste, raw meat in large quantities or high volumes of grease — and outlined free community workshops and a self-serve compost giveaway at Cesar Chavez Park.
