The Kay County Board of County Commissioners voted Aug. 31 to pay for the cremation of two decedents held by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, approving $500 per cremation under a county-funded arrangement. The motion to authorize the payments was made by Commissioner Jason Shanks and seconded by Chairman Jeff Kreger; the vote recorded all three members as 'aye.'
