Residents press county to name Environmental Evaluation Committee members and explain decision process

Robert Powell and other speakers asked detailed questions about the EEC—omposition and authority. Jim Minnick said the EEC includes seven departmental representatives: Public Works, Planning, Sheriff epartment, Environmental Health (a Public Health division), Fire, APCD (Air Pollution Control District) and the Agricultural Commissioner, represented by department heads or their designees. "There are 7 departments that are represented," Minnick said, adding that the committee reviews initial studies and votes on conclusions.

Powell and others pressed how disagreements among departments are resolved; Minnick explained the EEC relies on departmental expertise (for example, Public Works for transportation questions), and the committee votes on changes to the draft document. Minnick emphasized the county's EEC process as a transparent, multi-agency review and said the county records EEC meetings and maintains a record of attendees and notes. He offered to provide the specific names of current delegates offline and to add the flowchart and membership list to the presentation materials on Granicus.
