Staff explains temporary-event permitting and Lee County noise limits at marina hearing

County planning staff said special-event permits with agency sign-offs are required for gatherings projected over 1,000 people; staff also cited Lee County noise limits (about 66 dB before 10PM, 55 dB after 10PM) and said they support amended hours tied to those limits.

At the hearing, Lee County planner Brianna Schrader explained that temporary special-event permits require additional agency sign-offs (sheriff, EMS and others) when attendance is projected to exceed 1,000 people. She said events under that threshold on private property are typically outside staff's temporary-event approval authority and would rely on the property owner to secure required approvals.
