Council previews 2027 budget, flags courthouse security, ADA and capital projects

County Administrator Kristi Dischinger told the council the 2027 budget will include several high-ticket items spanning multiple funds: courthouse tiling and bathroom remodels, courthouse server replacement, security updates, jail evaluation costs, and costs tied to absorbing Solid Waste Management District operations. Dischinger also requested a $5,000 salary adjustment for her position and said one full-time comptroller position was eliminated in the transition. The Solid Waste District dissolution was expected Aug. 3, 2026, with a new fund (4029) to receive tipping-fee revenue.
