Council approves PERF eligibility for Small Claims Referee position
Council approved a resolution making the Pike Circuit Court Small Claims Referee position eligible for the Public Employees Retirement Fund (PERF); the position was increased to three days weekly (21 hours) at the previous wage and requires a Juris Doctor.

Melanie Mosby spoke for Judge Biesterveld at the July 14 meeting to request that the Small Claims Referee position be designated eligible for the Public Employees Retirement Fund (PERF). Mosby read the judge's letter explaining the earlier contract covered 2.5 days (18 hours) and that the new contract is for three days (21 hours/week, 1,092 hours/year) with the same hourly wage as the prior contract.
