The Pike County Council voted to dissolve the Pike County Solid Waste Management District and transfer operations and revenue into a new county fund (Fund 1194) funded by landfill tipping fees. Solid Waste Director Cinda Abbott‑Knight told the council the department "would be completely supported by the tipping fees and would require no tax levy for support." The Commissioners had already approved the dissolution, and the council approved line‑item appropriations to staff and operate the program under county supervision.
