ECMC posts model soil-sampling plan, sets VOC sampling enforcement date of Jan. 1, 2027
Rick Allison announced two guidance documents on the ECMC website: a model Soil Sampling and Analysis Plan and PQL guidance for table 9-15-1. Staff said EPA/SW-846 VOC sampling methods are required and enforcement for samples collected on or after 01/01/2027 will begin.

Rick Allison, groundwater investigation lead in the environmental unit, presented two guidance documents now posted on the ECMC website: a model Soil Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) and PQL guidance tied to table 9-15-1 footnote 9. He described the SAP as a framework for compliance with rule 9-15 and said it focuses on sample collection, handling, preservation and analytical methods for the listed contaminants.
