Drainage board approves box culvert crossing for Kirschner Commons road

The board approved a request from American Structure Point to install a 5x15-foot concrete box culvert to carry Jefferson Ditch under a new road for the Kirschner Commons development; engineers committed to certification and coordination with the Army Corps. The board requested elevation verification and documentation before construction.

Eric Whitker Sham of American Structure Point presented the crossing plan for Jefferson Ditch to allow an extension of William Taylor Way into the Kirschner Commons development. He described a 5-by-15-foot concrete box culvert embedded into the ditch "about 2 feet into the ditch, bottom" with stream-bed backfill to restore the creek profile and maintain flow.
