Sheriff's Office expands Savoy coverage; deputies increasing traffic enforcement

President Brown updated the Board on Champaign County Sheriff's Office coverage in Savoy, reporting that two deputies are now assigned to the Village on 12-hour shifts and that the County's goal is to provide 24-hour deputy coverage. Brown said deputies have increased traffic enforcement and that residents had relayed concerns about speeding on Wesley Avenue, West Church Street and in Prairie Fields; deputies will focus enforcement efforts in those areas.
