Board approves 2025-26 continuous improvement plan; Student Shadowing program returns

The Board approved the district-wide Continuous Improvement Efforts for 2025-26, including reinstating the Student Shadowing program (Student Shadowing 2.0) to have teachers shadow selected students to improve belonging and equity indicators.

Assistant Superintendent Stan Machesky presented the 2025-26 Continuous Improvement Efforts and the District's plan to reinstate a Student Shadowing program. Machesky said the Continuous Improvement initiative dates to 1980 and highlighted the Student Shadowing 2.0 pilot: site leaders will identify five to 10 interested teachers per school who will shadow selected students (including English learners, advanced learners, and students new to the District) to better understand daily experiences and support belonging.
