Minority leader asks for county briefing on recent 9-1-1 outage

Minority Leader Yvette Valdez Smith raised concerns about a recent 9-1-1 outage, asking that county officials—specifically Bill Beal, who has been appointed in a relevant role—come before the legislature to provide a presentation and answer constituent questions about the outage and public-safety implications. She emphasized that resident safety should be the first priority and said the legislature had received some information from the county controller that prompted the request.
