Vernon County coroner told the Board of Health the office handled 32 deaths in January, detailed causes and disposition, and flagged a county charge when a funeral home refused a removal fee.

The coroner reported that January was “a very, very busy month,” recording 32 deaths — 18 men and 14 women — and detailed disposition and pending autopsies. She told the board the office processed 20 cremations, 11 burials and one green burial; 29 deaths were recorded as natural and one as accidental, with two autopsy results still pending.
