DPW Commissioner Bob Balkind described an agreement with a private tenant (Sky Harbor) proposing two large hangar developments at the county airport; he said lease revenue for a single site is anticipated at roughly $150,000–$175,000 per year and that the developer would assume mitigation costs when they build. "They're doing all of that. So we're doing the environmental studies to determine what mitigation is necessary," Balkind said, explaining that the county's present investment covers investigative work tied to PFAS and other environmental concerns.
