Eaton County commissioners authorize one-year extension for Fire Training Center grant
The Eaton County Board of Commissioners authorized county staff to seek a one-year extension to a state grant for the Eaton County Fire Training Center so the project can be completed; staff said the project is about 70% complete and the original grant expires Sept. 30.

The Chair opened a special meeting of the Eaton County Board of Commissioners and introduced agenda item 6, a request to amend the county's grant agreement for the Eaton County Fire Training Center. A county staff member told the commission the grant-funded project began about a year ago and has stalled at times because of uncertainty over the appropriation.
