Regional preparedness work on hold after 501(c)(3) paperwork lapse, director says

The health department reported the regional emergency-readiness coordinator role and some shared preparedness activities are on hold because regional 501(c)(3) paperwork was not filed correctly, which could jeopardize federally funded preparedness tasks and shift burden to local agencies.

The department director told the board that the regional emergency readiness coalition's coordinator position and shared functions are effectively paused after the department learned "some paperwork for the 501c3 did not get filed ... and everything is on hold." The director said the county reached out to the regional board executive director to identify interim steps.
