County public-health staff warned that uncertainty at the federal and state level for SNAP benefits has had direct operational impacts on the local WIC program. Amy Ducharme (S7) told the board the office receives a weekly state call and that changes over the past weeks required staff to adapt enrollment rules and guidance on a week-by-week basis.
