The council approved an ordinance declaring the public necessity of acquiring temporary construction easements needed for the Mac Porter Trail shared-use path. Public Works Director Shelley Daniel said the ordinance authorizes the city to negotiate purchases based on fair-market appraisals and to pursue condemnation proceedings if interests cannot be acquired by good-faith negotiation.
