A council member (speaker 3) presented the draft 2027 budget and highlighted targeted reallocations intended to shore up public-safety spending. He said the administration moved some officer training costs from the continuing-education fund into the general fund and the public-safety fund to tap available cash reserves, and that the ambulance-service contract will require a larger appropriation next year (the discussion referenced an initial $50,000 figure that was later discussed at $55,000). "Most for the most part, most of the line items remained unchanged," the council member said, noting the chief had requested additional training funding and that the general fund can absorb potential transfers if necessary.
