Planning commission and Conservation split on rezoning; commissioners recommend partial rezone while conservation urges caution
Planning & Zoning heard several petitions Sept. 15. The commission recommended rezoning only Lot 1 of the Pierce property to RE‑1 and leaving Outlot X A‑2 after a Dallas County Conservation Board site visit recommended against rezoning the wooded slopes. The board also handled telecom tower and other items.

The board packet included extensive Planning & Zoning material and a Dallas County Conservation Board review for a rezoning petition by Todd Pierce. The county conservation letter, submitted to the board, concluded: "DCCB has no significant concern with the proposed rezoning of Lot 1 but does not recommend rezoning Outlot X to RE‑1 as currently proposed."
