Vice mayor McDonald introduced a discussion on unauthorized or improper tree clearing and asked staff what enforcement options the city has under the new development code. Staff and commissioners said previous enforcement was limited, noted an active violation on a recently cleared Croquette Road site, and recommended a clearer tree-removal permit and improved public education.
