The board approved the first reading of policies covering withdrawal, medical care (asthma/epinephrine, diabetes), electronic communications devices, extracurricular activities, disposal of property, records retention and youth organization access to students.

The Mapleton Local School District Board approved the first reading of several board policies at the Aug. 13 meeting. Policies advanced on first reading include 6.12 (Withdrawal From School); 6.35 (Asthma Medication and Epinephrine Delivery Systems); 6.45 (Electronic Communications Devices); 6.51 (Diabetes Care); 7.17 (Extracurricular Activities); 8.14 (Disposal of Property); 9.24 (Records Retention and Disposal Schedule); and 9.46 (Youth Organization Access to Students During School Hours). The motions passed unanimously 5–0.
