Police patrols in Trappe to decrease as grant funding lapses in September

During the Sept. 3 meeting Sgt. Aita presented the monthly police report and informed the council that the grant funds supporting current patrols will expire sometime in September, meaning patrol coverage will be reduced until new funding becomes available. The Sheriff's Office has applied for a replacement grant; Sgt. Aita told the council that, if awarded, the new funds would not be available until October.
