Village engineers told the council the village submitted a congressional direct-spending request through U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin's office seeking 100% of the cost for a proposed new Department of Public Works building. Engineers said it could take "a couple of months" to hear back on the application and recommended the village expand its Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) with more detailed project lists and cost estimates to be ready for fast-moving funding opportunities.
