County issues three March proclamations recognizing Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and procurement professionals
The court adopted proclamations recognizing March 2026 as American Red Cross Month, National Meals on Wheels Month and Procurement Month with unanimous votes; local representatives described programs and volunteer needs.

The court read and adopted three proclamations: P-20260310-1 designating March 2026 as American Red Cross Month; P-20260310-2 recognizing National Meals on Wheels Month; and P-20260310-3 proclaiming March as Procurement Month and March 11 as Procurement Professionals Day. Joey Sanders, board chair for the local Red Cross chapter, summarized recent response work including flood support and home-fire prevention installs: “Because of the floods we helped partner with other organizations to provide 115 total overnight stays for residents. We served 3,500 emergency meals and snacks… and for 2025 we serviced 312 individuals and installed 358 smoke alarms,” Sanders said.
