The county attorney requested that the commission authorize creation of a third victim-witness position to address an increased caseload and ensure statutory notifications and court accompaniment for victims. The county attorney told commissioners the grant application requires a county commitment prior to the state application deadline and that the county’s portion of the annual cost would be $26,523 if the grant is approved.
