Commissioners delegate Secure Rural Schools election decision to CFO Dan Wilson
With the Secure Rural Schools election form due to the state by the 20th and timber-receipt totals still pending, the board voted to delegate authority to Chief Financial Officer Dan Wilson to make the county’s SRS election on a timeline the CFO determines.

Commissioner Freeman explained that the county must choose whether to receive Secure Rural Schools (SRS) payments or take actual timber receipts and that the election form to the state is due on the 20th of the month. Because final timber-receipt figures will not be available before the deadline, Freeman moved to delegate the election decision to Chief Financial Officer Dan Wilson and to work with Wilson to gather as much information as possible before submission; the board approved the delegation.
