Jury considers creating Industrial Development Board to enable Commonwealth's ITEP application

Legal counsel told jurors Cameron Parish previously registered an Industrial Development Board (1977) that is now inactive and recommended the parish re‑establish or register a board and draft an ordinance. Counsel said the timing is driven by a pending application from a party referred to as "Commonwealth," which is seeking an amended ITEP allocation to change an 80/20 split to 93/7; the governor’s office suggested the parish and Commonwealth coordinate and doing so through an industrial development board would be an appropriate mechanism.
