Following the mayoral vote at the Nov. 19 organizational meeting, the council elected Wesley Smith as mayor pro‑tem by unanimous roll call vote (7‑0).

After Jermaine Sullivan assumed the chair as mayor, the council opened nominations for mayor pro‑tem. Mayor Sullivan nominated Wesley Smith; no other nominations were made. A roll call vote elected Smith mayor pro‑tem unanimously, with all seven members voting in favor.
