The Planning Board recommended that the City Commission adopt a one-year moratorium on AI data centers so staff can prepare a code amendment addressing permitting, siting and standards for large-load customers. Staff described the moratorium as a pause to allow policymakers to craft language that would then return to the Planning Board and Commission for public hearings.
