Board codifies Deputy Clerk/Treasurer role and asks about bonding cost

The Clerk presented Ordinance No. 2026-05 to amend Village code by formally establishing the Deputy Clerk/Treasurer role. The ordinance was approved by motion; the Clerk noted there is no statutory requirement to bond the Deputy, but the Village carries $50,000 in employee-theft coverage through Tricor. The Board expressed consensus that bonding both the Clerk/Treasurer and Deputy Clerk/Treasurer would be appropriate and directed the Clerk to contact Tricor to obtain the cost of adding bond coverage and present that information at the June meeting.
