The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia Mayor and Commission convened a special called session at City Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, at 5:11 p.m. The clerk recorded Mayor Girtz and eight commissioners as present; Commissioners Davenport and Hamby were listed as absent and Commissioner Johnson is noted as arriving at 5:39 p.m.
