Town Board advances plan to tighten rules for Hamlet Mixed Use districts
The Town Board introduced changes to the Hamlet Mixed Use zoning rules to require first-floor commercial use, cap second-floor uses, tighten setbacks and sidewalks and preserve hamlet character. The board scheduled a public hearing on the proposed changes.

The Town of Wappinger on Sept. 14 advanced a proposed local law to amend its Hamlet Mixed Use Zoning District. Supervisor Kevin Ting and council members said the changes are intended to preserve hamlet character by setting clearer design rules for future redevelopment.
