The Berkeley County Board of Zoning Appeals voted to grant Hazel Singleton’s request to subdivide a parcel into Lot A1 and Lot B1 and to reduce minimum setbacks so she can secure individual deeds. “My name is Hazel Singleton, and I'm there for 03:07 Hopkins Drive,” Singleton told the board, saying she wants to “have my piece and, you know, go ahead and do what I need to do.” The board approved a variance that reflects 14.25 feet of setback relief for Lot A1 and effectively a zero-foot clearance for Lot B1 relative to the county’s projected 50-foot right-of-way.
